Automating the differential digestion process is vital in creating a faster and more efficient workflow for the analysis of sexual assault kit samples. This presentation will give the attendees a glimpse at the intricacies in implementing the Aurora Versa 1100 for differential digestion. We will discuss the off-deck sample preparations needed and the instrument’s processing for the subsequent extraction on Promega’s Maxwell RSC 48 using the FSC DNA IQ casework kit, ultimately demonstrating the instrument’s ability to set up the samples for quantification and eventually normalization and amplification. Finally, we will cover protocol development, training and implementation for casework samples.
