As technology continues to advance, so do the means by which criminals hide their digital material. Law enforcement agencies are facing the challenge of finding new and innovative investigative methods to combat digital crime. One potential solution lies in the use of detection dogs trained to locate hidden digital storage devices. Drawing on successful projects in the US and UK, a collaborative team in the Netherlands developed a new training method to train "Digital Evidence Detection Dogs".
In this lecture, Stèphan Petersen will share their journey, discussing their methodology for training these detection dogs and sharing field cases and lessons learned. By exploring this cutting-edge approach to digital crime, attendees will gain insight into the exciting possibilities of using canine detection to address this challenging form of crime.
Join us for a captivating lecture on "Fighting Cybercrime from a Dog's Nose Perspective" and learn how canines are being trained to detect hidden digital storage devices, filling the gaps left by human search teams and expensive technological aids.
